11/21/2008 - South85 Takes Home 2 Awards at the 2008 CMA's
South85 brought home 2 awards last night at the 2nd Annual Charlotte
Music Awards. First accepted was "Winner
of the 2008 Americana Showcase" followed by "Best
Songwriter" for Kathy Neal. We were also honored to
perform El Camino during the ceremony alongside some of Charlotte's
best talents. Thank you all for you help and support; we wouldn't have
received any of this without you!
10/20/2008 - The Shelby Art of Sound Festival
Thanks to everyone who came out Saturday to support us at our first appearance
at the esteemed Shelby Art of Sound Festival! It was truly an honor to be included
on the bill along with the likes of such musicians as Jim Lauderdale, Mike
Marshall, and Jack Lawrence, as well as local talents such as Tater, WSNB,
Acoustic Sydicate, and Mama Said (to name a few).
Don't forget to come out this Friday, October 24th to party with us at Carolina Bistro off of 521 near Fort Mill, SC. It's sure to be a fun filled night with the coldest beer and hottest wings around! See the Tour Dates page for directions and more info. Hope to see you there!
10/09/2008 - Moonshiner's Reflections and Upcoming Shows
All in all, one word can describe our latest outing to the Moonshiner's
Reunion - INCREDIBLE!! Many thanks to everyone that came out and
showed support for all of the bands, and most importantly showed
support for Barney and Debbie Barnwell. You would've never known
Barney was ill from his performance, and we have never seen a crowd
of this size before at the Plum Hollow Farm. We enjoyed seeing
all of our friends from years past, and were honored to meet many
new faces. Thanks to you all!
09/01/2008 - The New & Improved South85.com!

After a year and a half of hard work and waiting, El Camino is in our
hands! El Camino is South85's much anticipated debut CD, and we hope
you will all be as pleased with it as we are. The website will be
revamped soon with online purchasing added, but until then you'll
have to come out to a show to get your hands on a copy! Thanks to
all who helped us along the long road of completing this album, and
an especially big thanks to everyone who comes to our shows and enjoys
our music - this is for YOU!!!
